Locate on George Street, just inside the south gate of Jorvikburg, the Welcome Inn is the premier lodging for out-of-town visitors coming north from The City of Kingston. It is well-kept, clean and provides good food and drink.
It owner is Sir Wilhelm of Holland, a knight resident of the city who has a posh townhouse nearby. Day-to-day operations are handled by Ormond, Wilhelm's former groom and stable-master, who has earned his master's respect and thanks. Ormand is fussy about keeping the rooms orderly, as befits the house of a knight, and his cook, Elma, serves dinner promptly at seven and will not serve those who are late.
