Eugene Crebbs is a retired merchant sailor and ship's cook.  He was on the expedition which recovered [[gorak|Gorak]] and has become close friends with the unfrozen caveman.  Eugene was falsely accused of armed robbery and attempted murder in Louisiana and was only saved from a long prison term by the intervention of [[mr._cheavers|Mr. Cheavers]] and his team of crack lawyers.  

Gratitude toward Cheavers and friendship with Gorak convinced Eugene to join the [[gotham_city_restoration_project|Gotham City Restoration Project]] where he now acts as the cook and radio technician for the [[team_c_headquarters|Team C headquarters]].

Eugene is quick to launch into a long story of his sailing days, is a fair to middling cook, and an expert with the radio equipment.
