+In Millennia past, the mainland of [[Caldonia]] was home to a great many giants who ruled the lands. Frost giants and Stone giants ruled over the mountaintops, Storm giants ruled the seas and the coastlines, Fire giants built their massive fortresses in the deep fiery recesses of the mountains, and Cloud giants even had floating fortresses, overlooking the lands from their lofty abodes. They ruled the lands for a great many years, enjoying the beautiful landscapes and high-reaching mountains and amassing great treasures from deep within the earth.

It also did not take long for the dragons to discover the great hordes of wealth that the giants had collected, and they greatly envied these hordes of wealth. Both sides suffered heavy losses, but ultimately, the giants were able to drive back the dragons and a tentative peace was reached.

Giant and dragon cults formed, and before long, whole armies had been raised. War was once again upon [[Caldonia]]. With the addition of the mortal warriors, some of great power, the losses during this war were immensely high, and the toll that it took of the lands of [[Caldonia]] were significant as well. One notable battle, the Clash of [[Kipchi Heath]], happened near a small town called [[Dawnstar]] who was noted for their allegiance to the giants and the powerful Dragoon Warriors that formed there, [[The Dawnstar Dragoons]]. The grasslands of the [[Kipchi Heath]] were littered with corpses and stained with blood. Great storms summoned by the giants and powerful magic users sundered the earth and created unending rain and lightning, completely changing the region. Portions of what was once only a great plain became known as the [[Stormsoaked Plains]] which over the years have become a lush yet haunted forest - born from the blood of the tens of thousands who died there. Few deign to enter these woods due to the unending, violent thunderstorms that still plague the region. Not long after this battle, the [[Maw and Crown Concordat]] was signed, putting an end to the great war. There are still rumors about factions who remain loyal to their ancient benefactors, but the world has largely moved on from that dark portion of [[Caldonia]]'s history.
