Geosmin

Geosmin was borne of an enterprising dao from the elemental plane of earth and a Zhakaran slave. An act of kindness returned by the former freed the latter, who journeyed from the Anaroch desert to Dagger Falls. The Dao's evil was pervasive, however, and his former slave soon met an ignominious end. Geosmin was orphaned into the dubious care of the Zhentarim, where he learned his trade. When war came to the Moonsea, Geosmin was conscripted to the defense of Zhentil Keep and from there, to the offense against the Maimed Virulence.
