The manor is a half square mile of agricultural land located a few miles Northwest of The Town of Passburg. There are 25 peasants, in 4 families working the land, chiefly growing sorghum, and paying 50gp worth of crops and labor per month as rent to the holder of the manor, Squire Gordon.
The squire's family lives in a solid stone house with barn and a couple of old cottages on the grounds. The tenant families each have a cottage and barn out on their plots. The manor was first granted to Gordon's great-grandfather Squire Brumley.
Gordon owes 2 months a year military service to the Lord of Passburg in exchange for the manor. This usually takes the form of serving in the garrison of Passburg keep for the month of January, and random call outs to serve one of the knights as squire on a quest or at a tournament, or a few days here and there to drill local peasant militia.
The income from the peasants and the house SHOULD provide Gordon half price maintenance for his family and some cash, but he has badly mismanaged the place and everything is mortgaged to the hilt. He breaks even on his family, but needs to cover his own maintenance expenses each month to keep the greedy Dwarven money lenders away. It will take about 3000gp to clear his debts. By the winter of 2021, it had gotten so bad that Gordon sold his horse to make a mortgage payment, but he still wears his silver squire's spurs.
After his first two expeditions, Gordon has managed to reduce his debt by 300gp to 2700gp. He also bought a light horse, but finds himself broke again.
