Murder Plot in Storm Eagle

Dateline, Castle Eagle, Rep the 10th,

by Chauncey Eggbottom, esquire of West Eagle

Lord Edmund, Count of Storm Eagle, was treacherously poisoned by his steward, Morvik Long-pants, on the 8th of this month.  Morvik himself was soon killed by Sir Malakai of the Order of St. Hugo.  Due to this intervention, Lord Edmund was restored to us and a further plot against Bishop Dumbric was foiled. Malakai was rewarded by the Count with a grant of the vacant fief of Blacksword, and some incidental presents were bestowed on some of  Malakai’s retainers.

The Valor of Sir Malcolm

Dateline, Old Fort, Rep 11th

By Horatio Falkenstein, bard

It was an amazing sight on Rep the 8th, an orcish army came and threw themselves in droves against the walls of Old Fort.  It was only the ferocious might of Sir Malcolm, our gracious liege, that saved the town from destruction.  When the sun reached its zenith, Sir Malcolm issued a great defiance against the approaching horde.  As he hurled several from the walls, the rest were gripped with fear and they fled back whence they came.

News in brief

Baltburg:  a reward has been posted for Tlag the murderous half-orc.  She has been seen in town lately, after a long disappearance.

Ludwig: notice goes out that a gnome named Tasher, and an elf named Bayne are banned from the lands of the Master.  Official notice goes out to the guild of Innkeepers that these two should be considered “difficult”, on the grounds of shenanigans and suspicion of unnatural druidic practices.

Wilton:  the Imperial Borderers and Sir Raynard of East Tower confirm the reappearance of Hill Giants in Raider Country.

Road Tower:  the banditry along the Baltburg—Old Fort road has dropped off significantly, but disturbing reports of unnatural creatures to the south of the road persist.  Beddo the Tinker, familiar to travelers has not been seen for quite some time, his friend Snively the Trapper told us “I bet it were dem druids, fer sure.”

News from afar

Western Marches: a report has come in that the Bishop of Fort Lester in the Western Marches has expelled a group of nasty Serpent-cultists, although not without loss in among his soldiery.  The next day, an assassin was apprehended in the cathedral, but, Praise Bor, she was apprehended.
