A
Fine Festival
Dateline,
East Eagle Wap 2nd
By
Horatio Falkenstein, bard
Words would fail anyone of less
skill than I to describe the glorious Procession of the Majesty of Bor held in
East Eagle this year. O Sweet, Glorious
Saints! The festival was like unto a glimpse of paradise, yeah, it was a rose
among the thorns of our daily toil. The
sacred turnip was of surpassing girth and magnitude this year and the Epic
Halfling Dance filled the heart of the turnip-carrier with such joy he shown
red as the summer sun. The tournament
was also full of great drama, two such knights as Rannos and Ulfric have not
been seen in such a display for many a year under Bor. The only shadow was the sudden departure of
Sir Angus, Sir Brasidas and Sir Raynard on the evening of the tourney. These brave knight-holders must have had
some word from the border, nothing serious let us hope.
A
Proclamation
Dateline,
Castle Eagle, Xar the 2nd
By his
Honor, Edmund, Count of Storm Eagle
Let it be known that Rannos, late steward of
Blacksword, is knighted this day for courage and valor on the field of
honor. His brave showing in the
tournament confirms the high praise he has won against the Road Agents, Kobold
Raiders and devils of the Wastes. Let
it also be known that Whitefire, the famed demon-slayer, is now Master of Blacksword,
and is high among my counsels in all matters mysterious.
News
in brief
Ludwig:
word has still not come from the Barony of Elf Wind. The Master of Ludwig is worried and says
that the border warden Giles was supposed to return from the Dry Hills three
days ago but has not.
Castle
Eagle: Sir Ulfric
left Castle Eagle in a huff. He was
heard to say “Knighthood, hmmff, there wasn’t a man here worthy to lick my
boots.”
Baltburg:
it has come to the notice of the town council that our mystical townsman
Raedgar the Mysterious is gone from town and has been for some weeks. No one has entered or left his tower since
the end of Yeb. Very mysterious.
News
from afar
Dwarf
Kingdom: the ambassador from the scattered northern
clans was refused aid by the Dwarf king, much to their dismay. The king is too troubled by the Black Plague
to help his distant kin.
Holtens:
the High Druids of the Holtens have declared the Empire to be “under the
Bans of the Lady”, some sort of heathen curse.
Rant on you bloody pagans, Bor will win out in the end.
