Excerpt from the Diary of Castagere the Summoner

Castagere was a scoundrel wizard of the early days of the Empire of the Seven Swords.  In the wake of Acherousia’s fall, he built up an underground drug cartel in the South which he used to fund his summoning experiments.  At one point, he was known as enemy number one of the Empire.  He was never defeated, but was instead found dead in IY 28 presumably at the hands of one of the outsiders he had summoned.

Sau 3rd, IY 23

The ghost has attacked again, this time at my clearing house in Mummert.  Reports that he appears from the shadows, kill all he sees and then disappears are now confirmed by those who hid and survived.  He takes his revenge quietly and mercilessly.  He is definitely in league with the church, I am sure of it now.  However, his actions point to him being some sort of vigilante rather than a sanctioned church agent.

This time my agents were ready for the ghost.  My djini contact was right.  He did strike, and my agents were able to fell the dread ghost in a well-executed ambush.  However, I am puzzled by the fact that the body was not recovered.  Apparently, when my agents turned their back the ghost had mysteriously disappered.  I must consult the outsider again to make sure that the agents are correct.

The ghost is still very much alive.  He returned to the site of the ambush and killed each agent involved in the ambush one by one.   Against those who had drawn his blood, he was unstoppable.  Grish was found dead at her breakfast, Moliq in his bath, and Sharpblade was found hanging dead from the door of his brothel.  What does this being want?  I must consult the outsiders again.

Sau 25th IY 23

After a week of meditations, I have located the information I want.  This being is a Ghostwalker of Bor.  I have secured his name, and I am ready for him when he arrives at my stronghold.  Now I only need to release the information I want to him so that he follows up on it…

Sau 26th IY 23

The ghost is finally dead.  The Tanarii was right about his name.  Once I spoke it aloud, the spell was broken and he was a ghost no more.  My guards were able to make him bleed, and eventually die.  His skull now adorns my workshop.  How sweet victory!  Now nothing can stand in my way of dominating the major guilds here in the South.
