Session/Game: Trefrey 3e #10 Date:12/13/02 Campaign Date: Odec 11 - Odec 13; Imperial Year 221
Characters: Log: One of the monks of the monastery speaks of an ancient Acherousian temple that the Swerding scholar Ulhek once spent several years investigating. The monk guides the heroes to the East across "The Rack" -- a tretcherous mountain range. Tordek dispatches a group immediately to investigate the monastery in hopes of learning what the Scrolls of Ulhek might include. As the heroes descended into the hidden vale, they see a ruined temple on a low hill in the center of the valley. They approach the marble-columned temple, weapons at the ready. Inside the temple, they discover that it was once used in the worship of the Serpent god -- an Abomination in the eyes of the Empire. As the heroes make to loot and dismantle the temple, summoned outsiders emerge from the shadows to attack. The heroes manage to drive off the buggers and they discover some hidden stairs leading to a lower level. Rather than press on, the group decides to rest the night in the temple. Unfortunately, their rest was interrupted by a cadre of lizard men. The heroes fight valiantly, but one of their number -- a lizardfolk shaman -- manages to escape down the hidden stairs. The group pursue the shaman only to run into two human guards armed and armored in the style of the Serpent God! The heroes fight an inspired battle, and manage to slay the guards but not before the shaman escapes through a solid steel door. Rather than persue, the sorely wounded heroes retreat into the night. |
