Session/Game: Acropolis 3e #5 Date:12/12/01 Campaign Date: Wap 17, MD 1,323 to Wap 21, MD 1,323
Characters: Log: The companions prepare to rest for the night when they are visited by an odd gnome. The gnome asks them to follow him if they want to get off the island successfully. The time travellers are transported by the gnome to his personal demi-plane. There, the gnome reveals himself to be Iscariot of the Island of Enlightenment. Others know the learned scholar as "The Laughing Gnome". Iscariot tells the adventurers about an ancient prophecy that tells of seven travellers who will wield the seven instruments of Ambitrax created from the Celestial Key which can be used to unlock the Acropolis of Eternity. The prophecy goes on to say that of these travellers, one will betray, one will find light, one will save, one will sacrifice, one will protect, one will be lost , and one will lead them all. A group known as the watchers are charged with defeating the seven travellers, and keeping the parts of the Celestial Key from being used. The gnome takes the heroes to a shadowy manor house where mad Ambitrax lived at one time. Shades still inhabited the place, and it was locked within its own demiplane of horror. The group was finally able to break the curse of the plane by burying the remains of an incenerated child and liberate the Horn of the Damned. The heroes understand from Iscariot that their lupine babysitter Alexander is in fact planning on killing the companions once their job is done. As a matter of fact, the master (now known to be Ur-Maxus, monarch of Acherousia and half-elven son of Ambitrax) is just using the group. The group stages an elaborate trap for the werewolf and his minions and kill them all at Belinor Keep.
