Log:

Corian is trapped in a dream. In the dream, helpless elven townsfolk are mummified alive in strands of spider silk and hung upside-down from their forest home by hordes of large and small spiders. The townsfolk groan and scream in terror, trapped and in pain. Looking on at this carnage, dark-skinned elves in arachnid-adorned armor look on in satisfaction. One of the townsfolk groans a word, "Aniel". Corian awakens.

Following the defense of Light Keep, a holy hermit wanderer named Gardan arrives at the smoking keep. He had sensed that there were faithful of Bor in trouble, and he arrived to lend them his aid. He enters the keep and begins to heal the injured and poisoned. He is later joined by the rest of the party who welcome the able hermit into their party.

The hermit lets the party know that he was on his way to the elven town of Aniel. Apparently, there has been no word from the inhabitants of the town for over a month. Corian, plagued by the dreams of spiders urges the party to join Gardan on his quest.

The time travellers arrive in Aniel only to find an elven town that looks as though it has been abandoned. Beds are made and food still lies rotting on tables where they were served. There are no signs of struggle. It is as though the townsfolk were all just instantaneously disintegrated, leaving nothing. As the party begins to spread out and explore the town further, odd and spooky goings on occur. Several of the companions feel a spider web brush against their face only to find nothing when they go to brush it away. Some hear the far-off cries of elves in pain. Finally, the Shrew feels the presence of something hanging in a room and casts See Invisibility. Hanging next to him he sees the dried body of an elf mummified in spider silk. Just then a gigantic spider appears and attempts to attack the shrew. The nimble sorcerer avoids the arachnid's charge only to loose the beast as it scuttles out the door. When the shrew turns back, the dead elf has left.

After some trial and error as well as many see invisibility spells, the party manages to figure out that the entire village has been cursed by one of their own. Every elf in the village has been made permanently etherial by a ghost named Navae who used a Drow artifact named the Galadiir. Apparently, the only way to free the town is to get the artifact and use the final wish in the gem to return the town to its normal state.

The heroes go to the house set away from the main village of Aniel where the venerable village wizard had lived before he was killed by Navae's treachery. Below the hut, they find a series of tunnels that served the wizard as his library and laboratory. There they find the ghost of Navae wishing to get control of the Galadiir in order to return to mortal state. After several attacks from the incorporeal ghost including dominating Dathiest to just about slay Jack and drive the Shrew insane, Corian and Gardan manage to banish Navae for good and retrieve the Galadiir.

Corian ends the disturbing dreams by freeing the village of elves from their etheral prison, and then begin their return to the Light Keep to meet the other time travellers.
