This humble village of fourteen families in a bend of Longcrook Creek are led by a young man who calls himself Ricketts. They raise goats and grain, and live in fear of harassing bandits and the sorceress across the creek. There is a suspicious paucity of adult men left in the village, as Ricketts himself just passed his eighteenth winter.
