Trogdor's older brother took young Trogdor and travelled from the plaguelands to safety at a bardic college named the [[Fool's echo|Fool's Echo Bardic College]]. Once the two arrived, Torgdor's brother was afflicted with the plague, and was driven back into the plaguelands. Trogdor himself appears to be immune to the disease.

Ultimately, Trogdor was tricked into crossing over to the Shadowfell by a black dragon who went by the name of [[Backwoods Basilisk]] when he was asked to play a gig there after a hard night of partying.
