The Serene Expanse

The Serene Expanse, sometimes just called “the expanse” is a great ocean to the West of the Plaguelands. It is largely a lawless place, with hidden volcanic islands holding long-forgotten treasures left by forgotten lizardfolk civilizations, pirate bases, or wizard hermits. There is little law on the sea except for the great Elven Empire Navy. The high elves are the greatest sailors in the world, and on “the expanse” their ships are the law. They are built to not only be the fastest ships, but also to take the greatest advantage of elven magi.

• Few other groups can rival the elven navy, but the Highport navy is one local power. They patrol the waters near their city, making the nearby waters safe from the pirates who once plundered at will but now make up the gentry of the town.

• A secret haven for pirates named Portusclepta is hidden in a dormant volcano in the center of the ocean.

• Albion the once-mighty capitol of the high elven military empire is located within the waters of “the expanse.”
