Omar is a young member of the Usher family, a long line of [[humans|separatists]] who came to Radavan a few centuries ago to worship the [[daeva#new_daeva|gods]] as they wished. Like his family, he works to understand the relationship between the living and the dead. However in his case, he has chosen to follow the [[Raven Queen]] rather than the tradition of the [[Traveller]] his family originally followed. He has been given the "Gloves of the Usher" at his maturation ceremony, giving him the strength of three for his work as a mortician.
