Log:

SCENE 1: The Crash Site
Dupont, Bloodblade and Fett had searched the God-forsaken surface of Beamis III for several weeks in search of the lost expedition of noted archaeologist Dr. Flinders Debris. Finally, a villager in some sand-choked backwater had pointed them in the direction of a crashed spaceship. One of Hollis’ apemen had bitterly mocked the villagers when they suggested that the crash was perilously close to “The Forbidden Zone.”

As Dupont and the apemen were scouring the nearby giant mushroom patch, Bloodblade, Fett and their troopers were making a search of the crashed ship itself. Just then a mob of 40 crazed cultists of the dreaded order of Slag-Bah rushed the crash site, waving deadly phase spears.

An initial volley by the heavy troopers cut up some of the cultists, as did a well-placed power burst by Fett. However, Fett and Bloodblade soon found themselves surrounded and hard-pressed by the cultists. Two of the troopers fell, and the rest were closely pressed into the wreckage by the wild advance. Soon, however Dupont, Allura and the apemen returned and rescued Fett. The troopers lines formed back up and they turned the tide against the cultists. Bloodblade finally broke free, sweeping away a half dozen cultists at a stroke.

After Allura healed the two wounded troopers and Bloodblade, and Fett shrugged off is injuries, they discovered that there had indeed been survivors from the crash who had apparently moved off to the East, deep into the Forbidden Zone.

SCENE 2: Mutant Hill
Several hours later, deep in the Forbidden Zone, the team heard a huge commotion. When they crested a dune, they spotted a small band of three human scientists on a hill, surrounded and about to be rushed by 12 huge desert mutants. Some of the mutants caught sight of the Knights and rushed them. Bloodblade engaged two of them in hand to hand combat, while the shotgun-wielding apes engaged a third. Fett, Allura, Dupont and the human troopers rushed forward to save the scientists. A well place burst of psychic fear by Dupont scattered the mutants attacking the scientists, saving their lives. Gunfire from the troopers eventually brought down the rest of the mutants, without serious injury to anyone.

The head of the scientists introduced herself as Linda Debris, niece of Dr. Flinders. The rest of the expedition had already been wiped out by mutants.

SCENE 3: Terror and Betrayal under the seven moons
As night fell they all made camp in the dunes. Late in the evening Allura and Linda Debris aroused a commotion when Allura noticed that Linda was wearing a mysterious necklace and had kept the fact hidden from the rest of the team. Dupont and Fett tried to calm them down, but Bloodblade, irritated by having been awakened, snatched away the necklace. This caused Fett to become overwhelmed with outrage over the breach of chivalry and hospitality. When Bloodblade refused to return the necklace, and then contemptuously hurled it into the desert, Fett struck him down with psychic bolts and stomped off to look for the necklace. After Allura revived Bloodblade, he violently attacked Linda, causing her to reveal her true form, a Mentusa, a big-headed green skinned alien creature. Just as he struck her down, four other strange alien women appeared by teleportation. While the team was trying to fight them off, one of their comrades retrieved the necklace from the desert. One of the alien women tarried to tell the party that they must leave the Forbidden Zone at once, lest they be destroyed for the crime of aiding a dreaded Mentusa on her evil quest. She also revealed that the expedition was indeed already completely destroyed by mutants.
SCENE 4: Epilogue
Back on Orion, the king rewarded each of the three knights with a cash bounty. Fett and Bloodblade took up their quarrel in a formal duel. Bloodblade smashed Fett to the ground and forced him to admit his error.
