Log:

SCENE 1: Space Chase
Dupont, Bloodblade and Fett had been sent to the Chulduk system to investigate reports of Mavorian craft making sweeps of the asteroids and moons. Surely enough, the, in a Naval Patrol Ship, discovered a Mavorian Battle Transport and 4 fighters heading for the moon known as Chulduk V. The Patrol ship managed to catch the tail of the Mavorian transport, and the two craft traded torpedo fire. The Mavorians were badly damaged but, the dreaded Ak-Ak-Ak-Mak-Bak-Ak, their old nemesis from Dendricon, took the controls and managed to break away from the pursuit. Sir Gouda and some of the troopers drove off the pursuing fighters, using the ship’s laser cannons. Ak-Ak-Ak-Mak-Bak-Ak managed to land the ship safely on Chulduk V, docking at the abandoned base on the surface. The knights landed at the farther docking bay, in swift pursuit.
SCENE 2: THROUGH THE TUNNELS
The Mavorians and the Orion parties slowly moved their way through the corridors of the base toward the central command center, where a mysterious treasure was located. The Mavorians suffered casualties from an electrical trap and an explosive mine, but methodically worked their way past the force field barriers. Meanwhile, the Orion troops were separated from one another when some were attacked by hideous spider-like creatures, as Sir Gouda and Sir Hollis used teleportation powers to pass through the first force field and deactivated the second. Sir Hollis was nearly crushed by a pneumatic wall-crusher trap, but the apemen managed to open a force field in time to save him. The knights received a radio message from Ensign Simmons on their ship, saying that another vessel was docking at the base too. All told both the Mavorians and Orion forces reached the central section at nearly the same time.
SCENE 3: THE LONG SLONG
In the control room a half dozen Mavorians in powered scout armor, led by Ak-Ak-Ak-Mak-Bak-Ak-Ak, squared off against the three knights and their dozen troopers. Both sides were also attacked by a set of 4 Spidery Death Creatures as well. They all blazed away at one another, but the high armor of the Mavorians and the toughness of the spiders made it very slow going. Ak-Mak managed to gain mind control over Sir Bloodblade and turned him against his own men, creating fearful carnage for awhile. Sir Gouda was wounded, but soon roused himself. A psychic stun attack from Hollis DuPont broke Ak-Mak’s control over Bloodblade, and turned the battle. Bloodblade turned Ak-Mak into red pulp with his Vibro-Axe and the rest very slowly beat the rest of the aliens into submission.

Just then a hatch opened from above and a group of mysterious monks entered the chamber, they said they were from the Order of Shadrack, and their leader, Brother Cryptos, claimed that the artifact in the base was the Lance of Wilson, with which the first King of Orion had smote the Robot Lords of Beyond. Brother Cryptos said that it was his order’s responsibility to guard such items and ask for it to be given to him. Sir Hollis quite happily handed it into their care and all departed.

EPILOGUE: THE KING
Back on Orion, some days later, the knights reported to the King. His royal highness Henry the Second sat in dumbfounded amazement that they had just handed the Lance over to these strange monks. Bishop Eusebius said that such an Order of Shadrack had indeed existed and guarded important artifacts, but that it had been outlawed by Mad King Tristan a century ago and had not been heard of since then.
