Byron is the sire of Q. He embraced Q against her will in order to get back at Craxus whom was in love with the mortal who would one day be Q.

At the end of the day, Byron is a survivor and a traditionalist for the Camarilla. He would never knowingly do anything to threaten the Ivory Tower. However, he has manipulated situations to his benefit in the past.
