 Sir Wilford tries to keep enough horses, even if they are nags, to keep the whole company mounted, as the job of the company is to patrol the area, quickly respond to raids and calls for help, and send news to the Earl in a timely fashion.
+The castle is strictly a military/religious post.  They have a guest house for visitors and extend hospitality to those in need, but there is little retail buying and selling.  Sir Wilford is more likely to give you a gift than to sell you something.  The post will buy  arms and supplies in bulk and any horses they can get their hands on to support military operations (full price).  At Hydra Castle they will also buy gems and similar valuables at 50% of list.
