=====The High Kingdom of Kumbrith=====

Once one of scores of petty kingdoms on the continent of Parantia, just over 1000 years ago, the [[Nexus|The Holy Nexus]] opened within Kumbrith, inspiring its then current king, Lothar I, to undertake the Unification quest by which many of these kingdoms were united into one realm. 

Nowadays, [[Baldwin III|King Baldwin III]] rules Kumbrith directly, and is the overlord of many realms beyond Kumbrith proper.  These areas, known as the [[Reaches|Reaches]], are ruled by various Earls, one of which in each Reach is named Warden of the Reach and is responsible for coordinating the defense of each reach.

The ideology of Kumbrith and the Lawful Church are one and the same and are the same as the Lawful alignment.  The goal is to produce a world of justice and safety for mankind and its allies, saving it from the inroads of chaos.  The Kingdom is seen as the temporal means to bring about this goal.
