Danes have a sense of rivalry with the Norwegians and are quite friendly with their Norman kinsmen. The Old World hostility between English and Danes has begun to lift, but in the New World the Nessex English and Thorsland Danes are bitter enemies.

Danes revere their ancient heroes, such as Sigurd, Starkad and Amleth as well as the memory of Canute the Great who ruled England, Denmark, Norway and parts of Sweden (as well as gaining the fealty to Scotland and Wales) early in the previous century.
