The Artium Cultores legion was originally a part of the Emperor's Children legion but after the defeat at Terra and fleeing back into the warp some within the legion saw the Emperor's Children as too repressive and not allowing them to fully explore and expand their art and themselves. The legion values art and self-expression and will often sacrifice their prisoners to Slannesh through elaborate shows that an assigned legionnaire will write and design. These can be plays, concerts, dances, or anything else they can think of.

Forces of this legion have managed to capture much of the agricultural world of Nekkyar. They continue to fight to destroy guerrilla forces of Imperial Guardsmen on the planet and push back against an expression of orks that have grown from the wastelands. The existence of underground webway gates demonstrates that the Alderi also have had a stake in this planet's history as well.

The legion is divided up into four ranks which have various freedoms that come with it.

Tuneless – this is the lowest rank of the legion. They are made up of cultists, deserters, traitors, or any other legionnaire who upset the wrong people. They commonly wear very bland and plain clothing and next to no armor, because of the lack of color in their clothes it is common for them to be hit by friendly fire. Some are experimented on and made into hulking horrors and abominations

Space Marine – This is the rank that a legionnaire will start at and has sub levels that are denoted by how much of their armor they have been given the right to paint as they wish. Once they have gained the right to customize all their armor, they gain the rank of Noise Marine. Legionnaires that hold this rank make up the chaos space marine and heavy weapon teams of the legion, commanders of these squads are the closest to ranking up to Noise Marine.

Noise Marine – This rank makes up the bulk of the legion and quickly earn the right to chose what they wish to do within the legion. At first, they are placed into noise marine regiments but once they earn the right to chose what they wish to do they can fill any role from staying in a noise marine regiment to being a tank operator to any other needed position. The rank of Noise Marine like the rank of Space Marine has minor ranks within it that grant various freedoms to the marine. Some Noise Marines that sit at the highest sub rank are eligible to rank up to the next major rank but are unable to because a member of the rank has not died, been demoted, or the Noise Marine has not yet finished the needed trials to rank up.

Noise Lord – This rank makes up the HQs of the legion. This rank is also noted by being given the freedom to choose your own name along with other various freedoms and the ability to lead an army that they can design based on their own wishes and needs. This rank is the best of the legion and have all freedoms and only must answer to the Harbinger of Sound. Two notable Noise Lords are Lord Disco, and Video Star. When a Noise Marine earns this rank and large muti-day celebration is held by the legion where many show, plays, musicals, and concerts happen along with poetry, and various art contests are held and are marked by a performance by the newly appointed Noise Lord in which they will announce their new name.

Harbinger of Sound – This is the rank held by the leader of the legion. The current Harbinger of Sound is a woman that goes by Emelia “The Sound Breaker”. She has her own personal retinue of tuneless that follow her around and do her biding. She is never seen without her and will constantly follow her into battle and act as a shield for her. It has been a long time since she has been sighted in material space but there have been rumors intercepted by the Artium Cultores that claim she is close to reentering material space to lead her legion once again from the front lines.
