Because they have no functional organs, moving on spiritual energy, they are immune to piercing attacks and must be literally hacked to pieces or bludgeoned to fragments.
 The Guardian Corpse is a slave to every command of its animator, and lacks initiative.  It is typically used to guard a place or as a member of an army of Evil bent on conquest or revenge.    Guardian Corpses never need check morale, but fight to the death or until some magic compels them not to.
