NESSEX MILITIA

n the Kingdom of Nessex, each hide of land is responsible for 1 militia man for the defense of the Hundred, Law and Order etc. 20% of the militia can be called up for up to 2 months service each year in the army of the King or his Earls.

  • The basic militia man must have a shield, hunting bow and spear, with a saex-knife as a back-up weapon, and is trained to fight in a shield wall. As they are experienced they will add armor and better weaponry to the mix. Of late, a portion of the milita has taken to using a bill or long spear in place of shield and short spear.
  • In any given body of Nessex Militia, 10% will be class A, 20% class B, 40% class C, and 30% class D.

NESSEX MILITIA—CLASS D (1 HD Soldier)

Speed: 30' Morale: +3 Stealth -2 Perception -2

Attack: +3; Damage: 1d6 ( short spear or saex) Ranged Attack: +3, Damage: 1d8 (Hunting Bow, must drop shield) Shield Wall: in groups of 4 plus can form shield wall (disadvantage to attack)

NESSEX MILITIA BILLMAN—CLASS C (2 HD Soldier)

Attack: +4; Damage: 1d12 (bill or long spear)–Reach Attack: +4; Damage : 1d6 (saex)

NESSEX MILITIA—CLASS B (3 HD Soldier)

AC: 17 (round shield, mail) HD 3 HP 13 Resistance: 15; vs. magic 9 Mods: W-1/N+3/S+5
