New World Templar Commandery
Sir Roland De Clermont was a young knight who took part in the First Crusade. He stayed in the Holy Land when the majority of the Crusaders went home. He was among the second batch of knights recruited by the newly formed Knights Templar in the years after the crusade. Sir Roland is greying, scarred, pious and rigid.
He was sent to the New World by the Grand Master of the Templars in order to set up a small commandery in Kingston. Sir Roland has only said that he has 2 jobs: raise money to support the Templars in their mission to defend Jerusalem, and to defend the world against the evils that creep from the Atlantean Ruins. Rumors swirl that he and the Grand Master had some sort of falling out, but they remain rumors.
The Commandery consists of one of the stone towers of Kingston's walls a sturdy stone stable, and sturdy stone lodge building. The chapter-resident consists of Commander Roland, 3 knights, and 10 sergeants (who primarily act as crossbowmen). Sean the Irish Bastard is an additional knight of the chapter who was been sent to the frontier by Sir Roland to raise money and fight evil. Recently, a squad of 4 new sergeants arrived in Kingston from France and were assigned to Sean to help with his duties in the North.
