The wastes of the plaguelands are dominated by five main city-states and a series of plaguelords who rule through control of vast armies of roving undead.

• Blackangel - This busy port was settled by orcs long ago during the period of the Verdant Empire, growing in economic importance and is now home to several colleges of magic and lore, laboratories, libraries and higher institutions of study.
• Highport - This scenic former pirate shelter along the cliffs of the Serene Expanse Ocean has grown to one of the largest and prosperous ports outside that of the High Elven naval empire.
• Vice - This city is founded on a series of oasis in the middle of the desert as a stopover of trade, and has grown to be a hub of gambling, excess, intoxicants, and poor judgement which begat its name.
• Reunix - A city built on the ruins of the capitol of the orcish Verdant Empire, it struggles with finding resources for its inhabitants but the artifacts found below the city power a might military and fetch high prices.
• Salt Temple - This militant theocracy is situated along the banks of a salt-water inland sea.

First, there were the lizard folk. They scoured the deserts and the high plains.

Next, the Verdant Empire spread across the lands. These orcs and goblins from the South made quite an advanced empire, enslaving the lizard folk and colonizing the cities.

Finally, the human settlers from the East and the Fey from across the Serene Expanse moved in, filling in and ultimately overthrowing the rotten and splintered Verdant Empire.

Virulent illness strikes those who live in this land taking entire villages and corrupting them. The bodies left by the plagues are perfect tools for necromancers who call themselves “The Plaguelords.”

The calendar of Primater is made up of twelve months of four seven-day weeks each for a year of 336 days. Currently, years are counted from the rise of the first Prelate of Salt Temple after the fall of the Verdant Empire and the time of prophets.
