Background

Born in the Geoff, Kurt is the younger son of Baron Oscar Gunderson and Lady Emma of Kreeg. His older brother Stanwic has inherited the baronial fief and has 3 young sons already, so there's little chance of Kurt coming to the Barony. Kurt, however, has inherited a small cattle ranch and beaten-down manor house in the Kingdom of Keoland from his mother's side of the family.

Kurt suffered a large number of personal tragedies in his youth, including the loss of his younger brother Salamandro and several of his friends from the manor, culminating in the loss of his parents recently. As all of these tragedies were linked to the actions of raiders, criminals and vagabonds, Kurt has a strong dislike for law-breakers and free spirits.

Kurt is slightly anxious about the safety of Newt “Hotrod” Bladesgrimm, as he's virtually the only person beside his older brother that connects him to his life growing up.

Kurt is impatient, one of the reasons he refers to everyone he meets by a nickname he comes up with rather than their actual name, saves having to learn things.
