Cahair Logarius

Cahir was born to a wealthy family living in a villa in the hills North of Blackangel along the coast. The first fifteen or so years of his life were spent very comfortably. However, one day a pack of monsters attacked the family and Cahir was left as the only survivor. Cahir was left with a large scar across his chest from where one of the creatures slashed him.

After the attack, Cahir wandered, seeking any form of shelter. He eventually stumbled across an abandoned keep. As he approached he was quickly apprehended by a group of individuals dressed in leather armor and long coats, with the bottom half of their faces covered. They took him into the keep and locked him in a room. A short time later, a man with long white hair and red eyes entered. He had similar gear as the others in the keep. He introduced himself as Gehrman, the First Hunter. He began asking Cahir questions about how he came to the keep. As Cahir was describing the attack, Gehrman paid special attention to the mention of monsters. It was then that Gehrman began to describe what the people in the keep did.

Gehrman explained that he, and the rest of the people in the keep were called Hunters. They trained to hunt beasts and monsters of various types. The hunters were part of what was called the Order of the Paleblood. The hunters did not call themselves this, but it was what the various people began to call them due to the appearance of the hunters. Every hunter seemed to be paler than they should be. Gehrman explained that this was because of the process that potential hunters had to go through to become full-fledged hunters. With the explanation of the Order, Cahir requested the chance to become a hunter so that he could not just avenge his family, but also keep the same fate from befalling others.

Gehrman accepted the request and Cahir's training began the next day. Over the course of a few months Cahir developed exceptional fighting skills, becoming capable of wielding an array of weapons proficiently while also becoming able to effectively dodge incoming blows. Once Cahir learned how to fight, Gehrman began training him how to fight while keeping his emotions in check. This training took quite a bit longer than the standard training, but Cahir was eventually able to block various feelings and emotions in the heat of combat.

After the combat training was complete, Gehrman deemed that Cahir was ready for the next trial. The trial consisted of injecting various chemicals into the subject. These chemicals would help increase the physical capabilities of the subject, as well as give them an unnaturally pale appearance. At first, Cahir's body rejected the chemicals, which caused tremendous pain and agony for Cahir. With time and some magical aid, Cahir's body adjusted and began to change. After a few weeks of rest and letting the chemicals finish taking effect, Cahir was faster and stronger than most others, with the exceptions of other hunters and anybody who spent considerable time training. Once the physical aspects of his training were complete, Cahir began to work on the mental aspects. He gained knowledge on the creatures he could and focused on training his mind and other skills. He became very good at discerning and noticing things, as well as learning how to move quietly. He spent the next few months improving these skills.

Eventually, Cahir had completed his training and was made an official hunter of the Order of the Paleblood. He would spend the next nearly decade hunting down creatures and occasionally taking jobs to hunt people who were just as bad, if not worse, than the usual creatures he hunted. One day, after he had returned to the keep, which he had learned after his training was referred to as Byrgenwerth, he noticed a lack of hunters around. He entered the keep and searched for any hunters who may have been there, and he found the corpse of Gehrman, along with a dozen other hunters. Cahir was able to piece together what had happened from the wounds on the corpses and the few traces of the creatures that had attacked the hunters. It seemed that a massive group of beasts or monsters had attacked the keep and slaughtered most of the hunters there. Cahir then found a piece of paper in Gehrman's office that seemed to be a threatening letter of some kind. The writing warned of the annihilation of the Order if they did not cease their operations. The letter was not signed, but with the wording of the letter, Cahir inferred that the source of the letter had somehow controlled the beasts that slaughtered the hunters and orchestrated the attack,

Cahir then buried the bodies of the fallen hunters and gave each one a proper send-off. He left the hunters with their possessions, except for an emblem carried by Gehrman that had a blood drop engraved in it. Cahir took it as a reminder for himself, and for the person who was responsible for the slaughter. He also noticed that there were bodies missing, which meant that either other hunters had not returned yet, or that some had escaped. Whatever the case, Cahir left a note detailing what happened and left it for any hunters to find. Cahir then left the keep, taking anything he could carry, and went back out on the hunt. This time however, he would also be searching for the one responsible for the decimation of the Order of the Paleblood.
