Ping is an half-elven ranger from Highport on the continent of Radavan. He is played by Dan.

Son of a military family, Ping traveled a lot in his youth. His elven mother died when he was young in tragic circumstances, and he had little schooling. He spent much of his time in the woods away from the human civilization that didn't always understand him. There he had friends among the other Fey peoples. They taught him much, including how to deal with those of their ilk and the restless dead. They often chided him for being a “vile” human - sporting a thin beard and barely more civilized than a monster or beast. Consequently, Ping adopted “the vile” as his honorific.

Ping partnered with Nigel to act as a caravan guard to travel to the Shadowfell which is how the two found adventure in the first place.

Ping's father is nearing death. He has settled in Highport along with his common law human wife and her two sons.

Despite a general disdain for other beings, Ping has found peace along the other heroes. He helps them in their aims as best he can, even putting his own life and property at risk in their service.

In the past, Ping was served by a gnome wizard named Bartleby. After the gnome's retirement the two split ways amicably.

Ping speaks Elvish, Draconic, and Sylvan.
