Polychronopolis

The PODESTA of Polychronopolis recruits, pays and commands the city guard. Their commission is to keep the peace in the city and guard the walls and gates.

The guards irregularly patrol the city streets and will arrest criminals, as long as they don't wera the livery or badge of a great house or temple.

The guards are deeply corrupt, easy to bribe and quick to extort.

Typically a patrol squad will be 10 men, half with halberds, half with crossbows. They might be XC, F1 or F2 and might have a leader of level 3-4 either fighter or cleric. About 60% of them are human, 20% half elf, 20% half orc.

The elite squads of the guard are called the Skull Wolves and are level 3+ fighters in the best equipment.
