Gotham is home to hundreds of houses of worship. The majority of these are located in the Coventry district. Most are Christian mixed about evenly between Protestant and Catholic, but there are quite a number of Synagogues and a few Mosques. Here's a list of some of the more notable congregations in Gotham.
The Wayne Family, The Cobblepot Family and the The Elliot Family are all members of the Episcopal Church and various members of these families have served as deacons in this Mainline Protestant Denomination. It is led in Gotham by the Episcopal Bishop Wilburforce Sanders an extremely old, pleasant man. St. George's Cathedral in Old Gotham was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1911 and is being very slowly rebuilt.
Cardinal Romano is the scrupulously honest Roman Catholic archbishop of Gotham. He has been in the forefront of those calling for reform and new action against crime. He has one blindspot, however, he refuses to see the important place that his Italian-American parishioners have in the criminal problem and is quick to make excuses for them. The seat of the diocese is at St. Peter's Cathedral in Coventry.
