+EXPENSES: each character has a yearly bill to maintain his Lifestyle for the year.  These are based on the levels described in the Player's Handbook, but expressed in a yearly number (daily expense times 365, rounded to a convenient number).  There are several in-game effects that are tied to these levels.  One is the "Lifestyle Modifier", which is added to various rolls regarding [[family|family life]] (attracting a profitable marriage, having wife and children survive the grim dangers of birth and childhood).
