The Damsel's Tower
To the north of The Trimarch, overlooking the Retensa River, is a solitary stone tower. There are doors to the tower but no one has ever opened them or been seen entering or exiting any of them. On occasion, some have seen a solitary damsel at the window of an upper floor. The Horned Society and Bandits seem never to have made a play for the tower and there is no record of it in the Shieldlands.
Normlan, Ikarus, William and Barduhn assaulted the tower in late May 576 and killed a Medusa who had taken up residence there, along with some other monsters that had crept in. They discovered that the tower had been built with an eye to being able to stop traffic coming down the river (as indicated by a catapult emplacement on the next to highest floor).
