THE CLING-FIRE SIPHON
The cling fire siphon is an alchemical siege weapon used both in naval combat and to defend fortifications. It looks like a copper vessel with a bellows or pump mechanism on one side and a long copper tube on the other. It is usually equipped with wheels and oftentimes moved around on fixed tracks on the floor.
The vessel contains 6 gallons (=48 pint-bottles) of cling fire which can be shot as a total of 3 separate shots. Each shot has a range of 40’ and covers an area of 15’x15’ in sticky fire. Each person caught in the area of effect must make a standard saving throw. Those who fail the saving throw will take 2d6 fire damage each round for 3 rounds, and then 1d6 fire damage each round for 2 rounds. Those who pass the saving throw will take 1d6 fire damage each round for 3 rounds and 1d3 fire damage each round for 2 rounds.
It requires the Fighter Training “Siege Weapons” or the “Alchemy, Basic” skill to effectively use the Siphon. It requires the “Alchemy, Advanced” skill to reload the siphon without igniting all the cling fire.
