+Wollerton is tidally locked with half the planet in perpetual daylight, half in eternal darkness.  The temperature differential accounts for the huge icebergs in the oceans and the heavy storm activity. The human population live entirely in the daylight side, while the dark side is mined by androids and by robotic mining crawlers.  Wollerton produces enough biomass for its own consumption, but the storms make large scale agriculture impossible.  Most off-worlders can't stand folk from Wollerton, they're so damned clean, polite and helpful.  The current Colonial governor, Diego Steinman, especially hates them and is desperate to get posted elsewhere.  The [[normans|Normans]] see great promise in the place.
