The Tarontino Sector is part of the frontier of The Slice, bordering inwards on Thrandor Sector. Here, the reach of the core worlds is weak. There are few bastions of civilization, and the influence of the Star Navy and Space Cops are weaker. However, in this lawlessness certain factions have deputized themselves to protect their own interests.

Interestingly, many of the systems in this sector owe their current state, for good or ill, to the construction of Bastard Station just across the border of the sector.

Through a bizarre accident, there are 2 uninhabited planets titled XZ-243. It seems that two survey scouts filed their discovery reports at different kiosks at the Chamber of Colonization at precisely the same moment, down to the nano-second and both were issued the same number. In the UGH, of course, the Chambers can't make mistakes, so the codes were left in place, with a Class modifier. When either is finally inhabited by an Outpost or Colony, it will get a name and will be all cleared up.
