Whereas there are many small wine-shops, breweries etc that sell wine and beer by the bottle “to-go” the number of bars where public gatherings to drink are permitted is limited to 2 per each of the 4 sections of the city:
Dockside Tavern: Old Town: RT2 serves the sailor crowd
Erlin's Folly: Old Town LL14: oldest bar in town
The Grand Duke: West Rising NG4, NG 38–covers 2 buildings, 1 for commoners, 1 for knights and nobles
The Pony and Ape: West Rising SF4–huge drinking barn
The Grey Goose: East Rising: popular for quiet drinking VH7
The Black Vegetable: East Rising: UK1
Tickler's: South Rising EQ5–very fashionable
The Broad Serpent: South Rising: JT2–popular with sailors and the garrison
The Licensed Inns of Emporion
The city keeps a tight lid on the number of public lodgings, since they are felt to too easily become brothels and nuisance spots otherwise. There are currently allowed 1 such lodging house (called Hostels) in each of the major sections of the city and one each in the two dockyard areas.
