Session/Game: Acropolis 3e #13 Date:04/16/02 Campaign Date: Sau 4 - Sau 5, MD 1,323
Characters: Log: The heroes venture to the Melvek wilds in search of the Order of the Demilich, which apparently was formed as a by-product of Ambitrax's Visions. They venture to Khandar's village, the village that lived under the rule of the Manticore Lord for so long. Within the catacombs of the Manticore Lord (which formerly served as an elven military outpost) the heroes found several humans dressed in leather armor bearing the symbol of the Demilich -- an upraised fist wrapped in bandages. These rogues fell quickly beneath Jack's fists and Corian's magic. Eventually, the heroes are challenged by the two remaining lords of the demilich themselves. One of them a cleric, and the other a wizard. The battle raged up and down the narrow corridor where they fought, and Iscariot's shield guardian "Skippy" paid with his existence, but the heroes were eventually victorious thanks in large part to Titus' wail of doom spell which sent the villianous mage running. After disengaging some traps, the heroes discover the demilich. The demilich begins to tell the group how all of the madness of the order was not his fault. However, before the heroes can question this individual too closely, an individual in jet black armor with a black shield and a black scimitar appears from a gate in the wall. He neatly cleaves the head from the Demilich and invites the heroes to fight him. Corian approaches, relying on his piety and power of Bor to keep him in good stead only to get the smackdown from this individual. Another being emerges from the gate. This one is the huge bat-winged fiend who appeared and left the mark on Jack's head a the defense of the Light Keep. The bat-winged being looks a bit different this time, dressed in a black robe with his head covered under a cowl. He commands the man in black armor to quit wasting time and follow him. Corian tries to persue but is stopped as the gate closes behind the two mysterious figures. The heroes rest up and recouperate. Iscariot rebuilds "Skippy", better than before. They then return to the Citadel of Eternity one more time and climb to the bottom of the Stairway of Forever. There they see seven villians: Dathiest, the man in black armor, the bat-winged fiend, two demonic drastin crossbreeds, the group's former commander Falcor, and Valshoon the vampiric clerical head of the Church of the Unnamed One. Each plays one of the Artifacts of Ambitrax. There is a gread tremor that shakes through the citadel and a sealed door at the bottom of the stairway appears, grinds opens and reveals a vast but beautiful city -- The Acropolis of Eternity. The instruments fall away into dust, and the group falls unconscious as the seven villians enter the gate. |
