GANT KEEP
Gant Keep is the oldest standing castle in the Dukedom of Thranconia. It was built by the first Duke, Orlando the Great, but passed to Gant, his youngest son, after the Dukes had moved their seat to the earlier version of Castle Thranconia. The keep is one of the 4 castles that defend the North Thranconia Countryside.
The Gants have ruled this area as Barons ever since the founding in unbroken line. They are an insular lot, doing their duty to The Realm but otherwise getting little involved in politics and business. The keep is rumored to be stuffed with treasure from centuries of keepsakes, collections and trophies of the Barons.
The current Baron Gant is named Thankrad III and is a middle-aged knight who, like most of his line thinks of little beyond his castle and the vague feeling that he should be Duke.
The farming villages around Gant are almost half made up of Halflings, this being the largest concentration of Halflings in the Dukedom.
The knights of the barony include the knights errant: Sir Simon, Sir Adrian, Sir Beothan, Sir Titus, and Sir Rodney, all tasked with defeating the monsters in the dungeons of Emporion.
