valdar

 Valdar - Bugbears were the dominant citizens of the wormcult domain. The wormpriest usurped power over the Shadardrin bugbear tribe and forged them into a powerful domain and elite fighting force. His first conquest was leading the bugbears to victory over the Goblin tribes to the south. The Sordashar, Shaeshar, and Doonshar goblin tribes were conquered and forced into lower class status. The goblins were conscripted into armies as fodder troops in front of the more elite bugbear troops and their labors helped bolster the wormpriest’s coffers. Once the wormpriest was killed by the Skull Collectors, Tiberio assumed control of the Realm. His first action was to rename it to Valdar, and the capital city to Hamatar. Having become a noble by right of rulership, Tiberio cast off his commoner name and assumed the name of Tiberius Serenius Valdarius.

The Realm currently includes the provinces of Valdar, Haranshar, and Fort Hydra.

480 square miles ~15 mile radius when combined with the Haranshar province. Haranshar is in the southern part.

3gp/family land revenue 3808 families 50181.8gp/month gross - Land, Services, Taxes (high taxes, +2gp per family, -2 morale rolls), tribute

Chaotic

Morale The citizens are steadfast in their support of their leader which makes it hard for spies and thieves to operate and increases service income by 1.

Stronghold 342500gp – The mountain fortress at Hamatar Upkeep Cost: 1712.5gp/month

Settlement Settlement Urban Investment - 75000gp Hamatar (IV) 2400 families Income from settlement is 1580gp minus garrison costs. 2/family is required Garrison for no penalties

Garrison Cost: 600 bugbear conscripts - 10500gp/month (Human conscripts are paid half what light infantry are. I made the assumption that bugbear conscripts would be paid at the same ratio)

Tithes 10% of gross 5018.18gp

Festivals 6346.67 gp/month

It is going to be expensive, but I'll be able to train up my conscripts into a pretty good garrison. One advantage to bugbear troops commanding a high wage. However, for the first season, the morale roll is going to be trashed. -2 for different alignment, -4 for introducing a new religion, more penalties for not having enough garrison until my troops are trained, and even then I'm going to want more to cover other things. I took over at morale 3 and will just accept that it will drop to 1. Having accepted that, I'm going to raise taxes a little to help pay for training and recruiting. After the first season the penalty for new religion goes away and I should have enough garrison in place to offset everything.
